LiDAR 3D: Scan & Floor Plans
Effective date for this section: October 25, 2026
Information used to record spaces
LiDAR 3D uses the camera, supported LiDAR depth data and motion/pose information to record spaces and create estimated plans and 3D models. Saved projects can include camera photographs, depth/confidence observations, room geometry, scan paths, measurements, independently entered reference readings, job/client/site details, notes and photos you choose. Capture diagnostics can record the app/build, hardware model, OS, tracking/thermal state and observation-admission reasons. These records support local processing, recovery and your project documentation.
On-device processing
The app processes projects on your device. It does not require a LiDAR app account, operate a project-sync cloud service, or include an advertising/third-party analytics SDK. Interior recordings may contain private belongings or identifying information; review what is visible before sharing.
Local storage and system backups
Projects and job revisions are kept in the app's private local storage using iOS file protection. Depending on your Apple and device settings, system backups or services you choose may store copies. The app does not promise that a project backup is encrypted by the app: export checksums verify file integrity and are not encryption or authentication.
Exports and sharing
You control sharing through the system share sheet or Files. Exported reports, images, models, CSV/CAD files and complete backups can contain project information. Reports include only context photos or saved model views you explicitly select for inclusion; private source camera frames are not automatically added. When you save or share an export to another service, that destination's handling and your account settings also apply.
Deletion and retained copies
You may remove projects and eligible assets using the app's storage controls. Recently Deleted and saved job/model/alignment revisions can retain files until their supported removal steps are completed. External exports, destination-service copies and system backups must be managed separately. Deleting the app can remove its local projects; create and verify a complete external backup before doing so.
Chosen photos and diagnostics
Choosing a context photo uses Apple's system photo picker. You choose which images to provide. Optional diagnostic comparison capture retains additional depth information and uses more storage; it does not establish a measurement-accuracy guarantee.
Support and Apple services
Support and beta feedback are shared at your choice. Review diagnostic exports for project or device context before sending them. Apple may process system diagnostics or other device-service information under the settings and terms that apply to those services.
Separate from wellness apps
LiDAR 3D does not use HealthKit or Garmin wellness data. Existing policy sections about other apps should clearly identify which product they cover.
